  • DIY Spark plugs change - Help

    Hi !

Is it hard to do the spark plugs change for a dummy guy ? Like me ?

Just remove the spark plugs cover, the remove the pack coil and the change the spark plugs ?
Is it hard to take out the pack coil ?
How much Nm tight for the plugs ?

    Thanks !!

    Marc

ok just wait until later on cause that's when everyone comes on, someone will tell you what to do or even do it for you.

            Simple instructions are

Best to do this when the engines cold.

            Remove the cross over pipe
            Unplug coilpack
            Slide the plug cover off
Remove the coilpack by removing the two bolts which old it in place (will be clearly visible)
Remove the spark plugs on at a time
Fit new park plugs (best using a socket designed for plugs which holds onto the plug when reach it down into the port)
Tighten them all gently by hand.
Then using a torque wrench tighten to 25NM
            Fit coil pack (leave unplugged)
            Fit plug cover
            Fit cross over
            Plug in coilpack

Crank over the engine and all should be fine Remember to either by plugs pre gapped for your car or you will have to complete this before fitting the new plugs.

              Thanks..Job done !
Mech didn't get a working torque wrench, he said after hand tight a quarter wrench tight was good, around equivalent to 25 Nm.
