  • MPG + Warranty.

I'm hoping to take the VXR down to MPG soon for a RR to see what power/torque it's making and to study the graph.

Whilst there, I was going to get a spark plug and air filter change using genuine VX parts. Anyone got a link to the guy who is the manager at a VX service desk and supplies parts to people on here?

Would this void my network Q warranty?

Also, my car is due it's first MOT and 3rd yearly service in January, could MPG do this without affecting my warranty?

EDIT - Could someone give me a run down on what's changed/done on the 3rd yearly service? Mileage will be around 25k when it goes in for it. As I might leave getting the plugs/air filter done until then as it's only 3 months away.

Any dealer or vat registered garage using vauxhall oem parts can do you oil change , service - this will not invalidate your warranty.

As MPG are a vx turner, you will have no issues.

Check the service book, for info on what is done on each service.

      Thanks mate.

I was mainly interested if the plugs/air filter were changed because instead of getting them done next weekend I'd wait until the 3rd year service (December).

Just give Ian at MPG a ring, I am sure he will change your plugs / air filter at the same time you go for your rr.

i had my car serviced etc there as they use genuine oem parts as such has no effect on your warranty.

Aslong as you use oem parts then your warranty will be fine.

As stated previous - you can have your work done anywhere.....

However, if you are ever in a situation where you need warranty work done at a VX dealership, that dealership will demand to see any Invoices covering servicing which isnt on their computer systems. Just having your service book stamped isnt sufficient anymore.

How do i know this - I was in that situation

So in essence, ensure you keep SAFE your Invoice for any servicing work not undertaken at VX dealerships and you will be absolutely fine !

Sorry to bring this back up.

My car is still under VX warranty, can MPG do warranty work but VX foot the bill or is that not possible?

Unfortunately NOT as they are only a Vauxhall Specialist, not a VX dealership.

                        Is unfortunate

Looks like I'll be giving VX a ring tomorrow to get it in there.

Any idea if changing an alternator pulley is a long/quick job?
