  • Gearbox Crunch?

Hi just recently bought 06 vxr astra 42,000 miles & have noticed a slight crunch in 3rd gear.

Have been looking in the forum & have seen people have problem with getting gears. I can get them no problem just an odd time these is a noticeable crunch. No Whining or slippage either?

Would it be recommend to get it looked at or replace the bearings? Is there such thing as upgraded bearings available?

could be your syncro!! from second to third. Could be your clutch but it would happen in other gears

Could also be an engine mount.

There are newer bearings than what are in the 06 box but i'd get it looked at before going down that route.

I honestly don't think it is the clutch. I've noticed it more when cold?
