  • Adrian Flux - What a waste of time!

    [rant]

I am sure there are many success stories but my first encounter with Adrian Flux insurance quotes is not a pretty one!

Got an online quote from Adrian Flux for my VXR renewal. £1200. That will do nicely as its £50 cheaper than my Admiral renewal.
Call them up... Oh the excess is £3000. What!?! Only paying just over 1k now with a £250 excess!

He then records some more details and puts me through to this other company who will give me a quote....

Spend a good 10 minutes providing loads of details and then find out that these cowboys he's put me through to are basically just recording all my details as a referral lead and dont actually do quotes! They are the telephone version of a slow comparison website!

She explained that the process was that they take all my details and then put me through to a suitable insurer based on my answers, then I have to give ALL my details again, return back to the original referral company and they just continue to put me through to various companies in which I have to continually requote all my details.

I used one company, as I wanted to give my details once, and get one quote. I can quite happily find insurer numbers and call them myself, I just wish companies like this would be open, honest and up front about what they are going to do with your information, rather than lead you round the garden path! You owe me half an hour of my life back Adrian!

Yup they're a waste of time I've found. Their website is crap, and their quotes are always 4 or 5 times anywhere else. I was quote about £2k once for my 1.6 mk4 Sxi from them, whilst I was currently paying ~£500 with Direct Line. Proper joke.

Totally disagree, knocked spots off the quote from Chriss Knott.. in fact, they were the lowest by far and for the second year running I have gone with them..

Maybe it's just an age thing??

My cheapest now this year is greenlight, takes a day to get the quotes but was £800. But have to pay upfront for that price!

Ha yes I've had the same treatment they put me through to the same company who then referred me to another three. I spent the following hour and a half giving the same details and at the end of it I still didn't receive a decent quote!!

Like its already been said at 21 when I was young and stupid they would insure me on a 230 BHP Corsa B turbo for £680 WTF!!!!!! I don't understand how it works either

I'd love to know where insurance companies get their prices from. They differ so much from eachother. It's just so hit and miss....

Adrian Flux will quote me over £1500 while privilege under £1000.
