  • What To Look For?

    In the process of looking at astra vxr's, some some are stock some not but.. what to look out for, tell tell signs of turbo on its way out etcetc?
    Genral stuff i guess? Never been neer a turbo before either!

    I would check the usual, oil leaks, over heating etc , but I wouldn't worry, to much about the turbo going , as if need be, you can get it rebuilt, for the same price,if not less than a new turbo would cost, + it will be stronger

    I would pay more attention to the gearbox, see if there is any play, when in gear, driving it, if you put it in gear aply throttle, and the gear stick moves or you can feel it moving , Its signs of the box on its way out,


    Which is becoming more and more a problem with these cars I'm afraid ,
