  • Wheel Refurbs

Im p1ssed off cos coming home from work someone has 'stolen' my parking space, I went to pull up in another spot and cos I was annoyed I scrpaed the front right 19 . You wouldnt believe the mess its made from just touching the kerb. About a foot of the rim is damaged and 3 spokes have 3 inch scrapes up them from the high kerb.
I am going to get it repairs from one of the specialists can you reccomend anyone in South/West Yorkshire or North Midlands?
Is there anything to look out for when getting someone to do it.
I cant sleep thinking about my beautiful wheel so your earliest attention would be appreciated.

        BE CAREFUL!

I bought by brand new corsa and fu**ed a wheel 3 years ago (alloy).

It was seen to locally by a fantastic guy who restores HIGH PERFORMANCE cars in Surrey(we drink Tango don't you know)...

BUT as he did (which is the best that can be done, stripping, sanding and re spraying the wheel), thw wheel DID later show signs of its work. The laquer did peel and it IS a darker colour. I have just got away with it now ( 3 years) as a part exchange, but anymore time I would have been fu**ed.

        BE CAREFUL

I did the same in my old vec, 19" tooras, just touched the kerb, thought, oh bollox I bet that has marked it, went out for a look and it was like I had taken an angle grinder to it !!! I had mine fixed by a guy up here in Aberdeen, a smart repairer (jj Smart Repairs), he matched the colour by eye and reshaped the wheel, it was amazing, I couldn`t see where the repair was, and I am a fussy so and so ...

Unfortunately I this afternoon have managed to wreck 2 wheels and tyres. Im not sure that refinishing will be nough.

The rear tyre is shredded on the side wall.

                The front tyre is cut.

                Both wheels are badly scuffed.

All thanks to a tractor driver with an implement on the back that was too wide for the road.

I always thought the M3 wheels that I had featured polished rims? If the damage wasnt too bad I was able to polish scratches out.

I would take it Lovetts personally or alternatively Brin Jones on Golf Course Lane. They did work on my old Boxster and M3 and the quality was superb. If you want a mobile company then there is the Chipsaway guy from Bath (I think he is based in radstock when you check up on yell.com - he has an 0800 number). I have used him on various vehicles and he is excellent.

Thnks, might give him a try. They are polished but that also creates another problem!! If a wheel is repaired the water then gets into the repair and makes very strange marks on the wheel. It looks horrible!! But you only need to point the M3 at a curb and they get marked!! Makes you cry everytime!!
