Alarm upgrade.

i email'd them with ref the Canbus on our cars
this is the responce i got back from them.

We do sell a Canbus alarm that is compatible with your Astra. The model number you need is A8808.

Like Dave said thats what we are doing.

If you look at a map and find Kings lynn, March and whittlesea we are all in the same area and we gonna have us out own convoy. Might see if we cant get some others from Norwich to join us as well as were on their way.

clifford also have a canbus module in the pipe line which i am assured will work and also allow remote start of your vxr

it should be available within the nxt couple of months!

due to my 950 probz i hav been allocated the 1st production system prior to release to dealers so if your unsure of fitting an alarm then hold on and i will write a short report on the clifford when its fit and hopefully remote starting my vxr

I am looking to upgrade my alarm system too, however I would ideally like one that comes with a remote start and turbo timer, does anyone know if Cobra do this type of upgrade, as I quite like the idea of utilising th original key fob so that I dont end up with a wodge of keys.

You need to find a system that the manufacturer of will guarantee will work faultlessly with the canbus wiring system, so far Clifford have failed to do this for other forum users, I fear Cobra may have the same problems.

i no you carnt beet a good alarm sys but as far as i can see at this min in time you are asking for trubble, all the posts ive read its prob after prob if clifford cart get it sorted then who can do you want to be the one to try it on your car, then theres the thing about who do you get to fot it, its the vaux alarm that bad ? if thay need to brake in to your house to steel the keys. im not that sure but dont want my car mest about with by people who are not that sure what thay are dealing with,just think how will the electrics will be after 3 -4 years.

unfortunatley you hit the nail on the head there, but after 2 clifford 950 fit by 2 differant installers i may as well see it thru to the end and try the 3rd time lucky saying :?
