        the front face of the rim is machined with a diamond tipped cutter. this gives a highly polished effect, sort of like a cd face. this is normally done in a lathe

        only problem is bare alloy oxidizes badly and trans laquer wont stick to a polished surface.

        a pal of mine had his bm wheels done and he had to polish them nearly every week.

          Yes this is true but i use a firm who clear laquer the rims and not had a problem only when stones chip it off or you kerb it and then you could get a milky look behind the laquer if you clean your wheels with something like wonder wheels(dont use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
