could have been caused by an hairline crack in the weld then with the vibration it just travels , and b4 you know it plop its off looks like it's done that as it's all 1 side of the weld needs doing by a proper welder

most of the exhausts these days are done on machines by robots only has to be a mm out of line and b4 you know it this happens a small pin hole in a weld dont take long to travel

Wasn't it the same thing that happened to the VXR that is in the back of the Top Gear magazine? If not it was a fault like that somewhere.

As I posted on the other thread......there have been 4 failures on 2 cars and all have been replaced under warranty. We've since investigated and made some changes to the design and fabrication. Any failure is unacceble of course but the number is very small considering the numbers out there (over 250).

with any part which is welded there is a chance of hairline cracks not just the vxr exhausts could happen to any exhaust any where it is welded just a very rare occurence so i wouldnt worry about it

Yeah I have been reading thier exploits since they got the car, it was the same failure but not as spectacular as this, still its got a lifetime warranty and Thorney says its being sorted
