i have courts panel filter did not notice much diff over standard, but an induction kit will change noise however its not reccomended on turbo cars esp the vxr as they nakar maff sensors fast and can actually decrease performance, plus messing around with cold air feeds is a pain in the back side

Just fitted a k&n induction kit to mine and the dv is very loud now!

Sounds awesome with the k&n aswell.

correct me if im wrong but surely an open induction kit would suck in hot air from the engine bay especially a hot turbod engine bay

              it will.

charge temps will rise and mess about with boost and timing ultimatly resulting on power loss.

wont be to bad in this wether but its gonna be awful when it gets warmer

surely if you want to change the air filter setup to an induction kit ( dont really see why tho) you should go for a closed one like the pipercross viper with carbon fibre heat shield, but even then messing around with positioning cold air feeds is a nightmare done it with my corsa, mgzr and saxo vtr(boy racer cars) best bet is to leave it and just replace the standard filter with a nice sports panel filter from pipercross, courts, k&n if you want or green, anyone really stay away from induction kits on expensive cars esp with turbos

I went to the extent of having bonnet vents cut in on my MK4 GSi 'LET, made a small difference, but to be honest, after four years of trying, I never got ANY dump valve to work correctly - or more importantly (to me at least) - loudly.

I probably won't bother sticking one on the VXR tbh, just get myself a cheap RS turbo if I get bored of having no pensioner-bothering noise to play with!

each to there own, when the warm weather comes I will put it back to a standard air box!

But for now the sounds great!

Mate, people have been going on about heat soak and induction kits on turbo cars since day dot. I wouldn't worry too much about it tbh. Getting your car re-mapped isn't good for it but that isn't going to stop anyone from doing it if it gives them a buzz.

Totally agree, try and find an escort cossy without a k&n induction kit!

I fitted the bailey kit to mine and was dissapointed at first how quiet it was. Now its been on for a thousand miles or so it has doubled in volume at least! I think this is to do with it settling in and possibly the internal spring slackening with use! Sounds awesome!
