  • ONE FOR THE TECH's

    If i was to change the radio in my car from the cdc30 mp3 to say a cdc40 or 70 will it just go in plug and play or will it need tech 2 cheers guys for any light you can shed on this one.

    From what i can remember you mite need to use TECH 2 to tell it what Radio it has fitted so it can recognize it. Cant remember as its been a while now since i was working at Vauxhall

      yes you will need tech2 for this. even when changing a cdc30 to another cdc30 you will need it. hope this helps :wink:

        Yes as they have to be programmed and De - Programmed.

                No just looked on EPC.

                BASE (CD30, CD50)
                CUSTOM (R10, CC20, CD30MP3, CD70, DVD90)
                PREMIUM (CDC40)

                  isn't the screen bigger on the cd70? cos i swear i got told ages ago that i wouldn't be able to have the cdc40 changed for cd70 cos it wouldn't fit in the dash hole???

                    well i guess you need to look out for A11VXL @ brands as that has a CDC40 and the screen from a CDC70.

                      Its not as easy as that, The set is programmed to the car and is something to do with the Immobiliser, it may not start, what you will have to do is take it all down your dealer and let them de program your old one and then program the replacement. But NOTE: The one you are getting if 2nd hand etc, must have been de - programmed from the previous car with TECH 2 otherwise im pretty sure it will not be able to be re programmed
