  • door + screwdriver = hole

hello just took the vxr back to get the rear lense replaced.
got home and noticed a 1/2 inch hole in the passenger side door panel.
dealer says that no one got in the passenger side with or without a screwdriver so basically "screw you mate"
been thinking that if the doorhandle is pulled with a screwdriver in the same hand then as the door closes the screwdriver will twist into the door (thus giving me a hole s/d bit size) in the door. also when the hand and s/d let go of the door (as the s/drver is still between the door and the body) then the other nick near the handle bar in the door is explained. BUT its still "screw you mate"
i cleaned the car yesterday in and out and noticed nothing. cept for 2 goldfish swimming merrily away in the lense
even sat and waited for the car this one time
Anyway folks any ideas as to who or how i get a repair sorted before it gets too big please
    regards Grisholm of CSI

take a pic of it and post it here so we can see the damage.

I would argue with the dealer again about it.

    What dealer was it.

Contact Head Office in Luton... dont bother with the dealer go straight for the head guys... that's how I got all my problems solved with my prev car.

try dealer again if the car is clean inside nd out they can see that you look after it.if you have no joy with that go to head office and complain.let us know which garage it was??????????

            thanks for the advice
i'll get some pics up once i get my head around it
lutons out cus i'm still waiting on a response bout the engine replacement.
so i dont want to make it too complicated for them :?
if you have dealt with luton you'll understand
idont see that i can prove anything with the dealer ... it took months to get them to sign off on a new rear light unit
            its really annoying
i gave a lad in leicester a slap for hitting the car with a brolly.
            not too proud of that
do they expect a pre-job inspection with the dealer and a post-job inspection is promoting the mark and/or a trusting relationship between customer and them
its a small thing in comparison to what some of you have been through but we seriously look after and pride the car :
            thanks for the support guys

sorry too dark for pics with my poxy fone cam
could i ask how hard a job would it be to remove the door panel please
i ave this tendency to take things to bits fairly easily ....
but always have screws and bits left over when i put same things back together
big admission for an electrical engineer
if i take it to bits and screw it up the missus will super glue something to something so i'll need to do a handstand to take a whiz :?
              she's not too happy

Sorry to hear about this I am truly gutted for you. The dealer I used to use and trust has recently given up thier vauxhall franchise, and I am now seriously thinking about going to TMS for my servicung even though its a 240 ish mile round trip, just feel better knowing they treat your car as you would, and before anyone else says it, I dont mean ragging the nuts off it

good to hear from you worsy
i think this motors jinxed mate
i suggested to the missus that we call it quits and chop it in for the st-3
she aint come down off the ceiling yet even her flippin parrots not talking to me now
think if i can get the panel off and back on without any problems it should be a simple enough repair just one of those ones where if you leave it then a hole turns into a split and then a tear

                              Can't believe it happened.

Feel less obsessive when I take photos of the mileage and all wheels and car panels before I drop it off outside and check it top to toe when I get back.

Yes I do not trust my garage
