  • Smoke from cold???

    Hi all

My VXR smokes a fair bit when cold (like this morning) but goes away once warmed up. Is this something I should be concerned about?

What car is it, petrol or diesel?

    What colour smoke is it?

If it is just white smoke with hardly any smell then its just condensation in the inlet manifold/exhaust burning off. However if it is black/blue/brown then it could be a small oil leak in the turbo.

(unlikely to get black smoke from a petrol car unless it is running very lean)

depends if its smoke or condensation

Put your kettle on and observe the condensation that comes off. Its unmistakably just condensation as its very wispy and doesnt smell of anything

Smoke on the other hand is much thicker and quite often smells

Smoke you need to be worried about, condensation you dont.
