Gearbox prob!!

Got a whining noise coming from the gearbox area and a clunking on the gearstick in 1st and 5th when blipping the throttle... Going into VX tomorrow!! Went to Dap on friday, 500 mile round trip, and noticed this on the way back....just cruising no wellie...seems strange for it to just happen like that...

That is not good mate, dont think that will be covered by warranty either !

my guess is a new box is needed.

because of stage 3 !

I'm standard, just got an exhaust.....got the rest just not fitted it yet!! luckily

the rest is in a pile in the garage!! just good its happend b4 its all fitted and the stage3 map is fitted!!!

Yeah I was so tempted to fit that but this seems to be getting worse so looks like I made the right call!! How do regal manage with their 400bhp astras on the vx gearbox??

i believe they are also using the standard clutch??

if you can get car on a 4 poster Ramp pull the drive shafts a bit
Play in the bearings on the Diff i would say

have been in his car 2day, sounds like the whining u get when reversing fast??

have a look at the Diff as that could be the problem
if you get play on the shafts in the Diff

Wonder what caused that as it just happened on a long drive at cruising speed...not thrashing it at all??...Big job?? cheers for the input danny!!

Could be run dry of oil mate and cooked the bearings on the long trip? Just a thought, seat have had the same prblems with there 6 speed on some models with oil starvation issues.

If its whining it not going to stop till its repaired.

Thats a real bummer mate hope it get sorted out for you.

You didnt remove the box paint it orange and put it back in by anychance and not top it up with oil? only joking mate!!!
