  • hows your rear?

    have any of you suffered bad stone chipping to the rear bumper
    mine is looking a right state and i`ve covered 3000 miles

    thats a bad photo but there geting that bad there becoming visible from a few metres away
    i might pop down to the stealers to see wha they think.

    which bit is it leepy? is it the lower bit which slopes back under the car?

      yes.
      its hard to tell where it is on the pic,i turned the camera on its side to take.

        if thats the bit right at the bottem of the bumper, i had the same problem, but its not stone chips, is somethin else coz it washes off... takes a bit of scrubbin but it does come off...

            ive done ok with chips so far. got some in weird places though. on the drivers door behind the mirror, on the front pillar, some on top of the bonnet and a few on the bumper

            i havnt really looked at the back. its always too bleedin dirty to see properly

              i've got a Nov 06 car covered 2000 miles and i have to say its terrible for chips, especially on the front around the bonnet area. they are right down to the metal!

              No other car i have had has seemed to chip as badly, wonder if there is a problem with the paint protection.

                  If you copy me and VXRich you should not have a problem in future as the thick layer of road film will protect the paint work!

                        i havent noticed any there but then im gona be getting a new one due to my misshap last wk :?

                        the side skirts have plenty wear the bend round into the rear arches tho

                          just had a look at the rear splitter, and what first looks like stonechips, is infact, on closer inspection, a residue of some sort.

                          anyway, the things filthy. and why does all the dirt collect in the cornery bit between the skirts and arches. pain to clean!!!!

                          also my other astra is peppered in stone chips, and cos its dark red, they show up pink, and are really noticable

                            The worst place is the seam at the bottom front of the passenger door /front wing where it meets the skirt.I am forever cleaning and re cleanig that one
