I take it she won't be getting any loving from Mr VXR_James for a while then, or are you that forgiving ?

I'd have to seriously take myself off somewhere for a while if the Mrs done that to any of the alloys on mine.

I am not happy. Thing is last weekend I stopped her from doing the exact same thing but on a different kerb. It was perfectly aligned and if I had not have shouted STOP then I would have on SERIOUS scuff. This one os not too bad, more of a chip. Im off to Halfords to by Silver touch up paint.

Had similar thing mate. Went away for a week in the corsa, came back and went to clean the VXR. Noticed scuffing round the edge of front passenger wheel. I knew that my wife had driven it that week, as had my brother, and guess what both deny it

Just been to my dealer, he has said a new wheel is about 115 so thats better than I thought. However, there is a small chunk of tyre missing aswell. But this is only on the outer raised wall right by the wheel edge, so it should be ok. There is no fabric or nylon showing. What do you reckon? New tyre aswell - 200 all in?

                      nightmare!
im starting to get used to the idea my car is not going to stay perfect no matter how hard i try!!
the more you use it the more "ware and tare" happens.
to be honest damaged wheels are more of an inconvenience because for a relatively small fee your car is back to exactly the way it was, were as accident repair of any sort on the body will detectable

Jesus that's cheap, I know a new 19" is £299 as I priced one up only last week, plus your tyre on top.

If the sidewall is damaged I would replace it rather than take a chance...

if the sidewall is damaged either change it or get it checked by a specialist as it can weaken the structure even if the nylon lower layers are not showing.

Noone wants you to have a blowout at any speed.

Yeah Im taking it up there tommorow to have it looked at. Dealer has quoted 115 for a new wheel and 90 for the tyre - it will be like my oil and filter change and "bought over the counter" followed by a quick fit for a tenner.
