Can be bought from Courtenays, around £40 for 5 litres. Changing yourself is possible, if a little messy. Just remember to get a replacement filter and a sump ring at the same time

10/40w and from any tuner. Not normally changed with S3 unless you request and pay for it.

Helps engine run better, and I'd recommend using the better oil. Don't forget filter and sump washer which are about £3 ontop (i.e. full oil change to performance motor oil 10/40w should be no more than £46)

dont forget if your engine was to go bang and your found to be useing a none spesified vauxhall oil no cover will be given and oil viscosity is easy to check.

Oil depends on useage, time of year, regularity of changing etc etc.

We use either Motul 300v which is a 5w 30 which we use in the race cars and any car that is driven 'enthususiastically' and recommend changing ever 5k miles. Mobil 1 MS grade is also good or GM's own full synthetic.

I'd only recommend a heavier oil for cars that are left for long periods or not expected to change for long periods or perhaps for hotter climates, drives, for example if you were planning a trip to the South of France in summer a thicker oil might be better as it would still do its job without necessarily causing seapage issues in the higher heat.

That is a point though on the warranty I guess.
