  • Coilpack Anyone?

    http://www.vx-torque.com/showthread.php?t=1052

why does a tuner do work on a car knowing that the turbo had a slight issue and let the owner go, now thats much worse than a slight piston retard.

Quote "i rang tony this morning and VPC's work is no where at fault, it was actually them who noticed i had a problem with the turbo in the first place (it was slightly seeping)

VPC guarantee the work they do and are equally keen to know what has happened to the turbo, more than likely when the dealer had the car last week to sort the turbo seep they did something they shouldnt have done".

Should we leave it at that and put our prams away?

    Ahem - can't you read

There are 2 service bulletins out there that every Vauxhall retailer has. Both relate to potential oil weepage on all petrol turbo (non V6) units going back to Astra G coupe.

In both cases they relate to the turbo hose/oil return hose. In both cases it involves either a new hose and/or clamp, in both cases no damage is caused to turbo/engine and in both cases you can easily tell either by an oily pong or while polishing your manifold a little dribble of oil.

This has been the case since 2004 and really isn;t a big issue and if you're affected you'll get it all sorted on warranty. So if it smells oily (and you can smell it above the burning grass cuttings) take it too your dealer.

Overall an interesting thread that sadly , once again, turns into a (this tme) unfunny and inaccurate slanging match.

Why does a tuner do work and then tell someone they are making X bhp and then they find that it isn't

    Maybe you should read more......

mate thats not bad at all, ive been seeing from alot of dynos graphs showing both figures up to approx 25% transmission/ancillaries loss from the flywheel to at the wheel figures which would be seeing you at around approx 300bhp (flywheel)
