  • inst. consumption

    hi there,
picked my arden on wednesday, and only done 80 miles(been working)question is about reading on display for inst.comsumption-appears very erratic ie. if you accellerate away it drops to a very low reading ,take foot off accelerator,it goes to 999 briefly and stopped reads zero.is this mormal ?,i thought it would be more steady(My average MPG on BC 1 and BC 2 Are OK (Mid To Late Twenties).P.S. thought my civic type r was impressive but i think i am going to enoy vxr even more :P

That is correct. The instant consumption is variable. We see anything from 8mpg to 999mpg. All of those variables are then added up to make the average consumption. It is the average that you want to e looking at.

thanks for the so simple explanation catherine, average readings on the bc's appear to be spot on,did expect a bit of fluctuation on the instant, but not so much, you have saved me a trip to dealer
