Universal big FMIC

I see on Courtnay or Forge (UK) intercooler kit for Astra MK5 VXR (or OPC).
But it's too expensive i think.
I see this kit on Ebay UK:

But i think is too little for VXR....

Maybe we can fit universal big intercooler like this:

You have to remember that the kits come with all the piping, new brackets etc needed to make it fit into the VXR along with testing etc, thus the price. Looking at those 2 universals, you'd have to use some extra bends to get it to fit aswell as you pretty much need to go straight up from the clloer on the left hand side. On the right hand side you would need to run more bends again to fit up to the pipe work to the turbo. There is also the quality of the cores and the design itself to consider. If your good with the tools you could make anything fit, but would recommend tried and tested units such as the forge, courtenays, regal units etc.

Nobody fit universal intercooler on VXR?

dont really know of any people using the universal intercoolers. their isnt that much rooms to play with when you look at the size of the forge intercooler and space for the pipework.

However i think a couple of people have tried the JBI kit with decent results

Looking at those piping kits I can tell you they won't match up to where you have to run them on the vxr. As s4rpf, there is not alot of room when fitting in the AH.

It's strong on JBI intercooler,on all picture that i seen.
The original intercooler is still fit on vehicule.

On Forge,there is a kit for remove original intercooler.For fix condenseur of air conditioned on radiator.

If you know persons fit intercooler universal..please let me know.

Because for order Forge on my country i'll pay tax.The tax is 34% of price of parts+shiping price.

And my country is near Australia,shiping is very expensives...

The latest issue of TV covered a car fitted with an intercooler of a transit van, lol, am I right to think as long as you can bolt the ic to the car, any intercooler will work?
