I bought oil from vx and was given 5 35w?

The guy told me the 0 40 was to thin and would leak through the rocker cover gasket and it looks to be doing that?

      Any ideas what to believe?

        5w35? - sure that wasn't 5w30?

A selection of grades are suitable - I run 0w40 no issues

            Not him!

5w-30 is thinner than 0w-40 at everything other than cold and cold 0w is about 20 times thicker than 40.

0w-40 or 5w-30 are both fine.

            Cheers

In laymans terms, thickness at various temperatures.

Just to explain that the VX expert was wrong!
