Rumour has car was a proto type, wrong suspension... Top gear new this, but did not stop the Clarkson from saying his bit !! that said he has said since it is a real drivers car, yes you might die in it !! but that a good thing.. kind of back handed compliment me thinks !
Oh you rear wheel drive die hards :? will you ever get the hand of front wheel drive

the model Clarkson drove was the first pre production model sitting on the SRi chassie and suspension set up, the VXR the stig drove was a correct spec pre production VXR, now in saying that the pre prodcutiom models run a different map to our own production spec VXR's and having driven both there is a noticeable difference in both power delivery and throttle response

To be fair to Clarkson he said it was bonkers! and actually did not say it was bad, and you know he says what he thinks. In a further program he actually admitted he would have one,, but won't buy one, has to be good.
Haven't seen the Vectra on there , hmm wonder why.

Yes agreed your right, the fact that he said he would have one is the best praise you can get ! given his past VXL track record this speaks volumes

Is all this stuff Clarkson spouts relevant. We will all find the car different to each other. Why not go by your own instincts and don't be swayed by some one who is and always has been self opinionated. He can be funny, but he can also be obnoxious. Its Stig who could probably give a better testimony of the car. There seem to be lots of you who love the car, his comments wouldn't put me off buying mine, infact I am even more impressed, thanks Jeremy.
