  • HOW TO fit a 1.9cdti airbox mod for VXR

    http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/SA...559/index.html

the pipe work is from Samco Xtreme as its 3mm vs 5mm the std Samco is
Samco Xtreme 90 degree reducing elbow 80mm to 60mm bore is used to Bolt onto the Turbo
then get a bit of 80mm Steel or alloy tube I got this from a exhaust company
then a Samco Xtreme 90 degree 80mm from AFM to the pipe joiner

I have used a small bit of samco 80mm 3mm wide an a 80mm clip to Hold AFM into airbox
I have used the Black stuff as i had that in work an it looks more oe I think

hope this helps some one thanks

pipe work was £40 all in
and the airbox was £40 off a vauxhall parts company
they are only £60 from vauxhall with a new airfilter
also the breather is in the bottom of the airbox with a bit of pipe 17mm off top of my head
that was from work again but should only cost £4 from a hose company

Inside the airbox the maf has a 3mm ring of samco around it and a 80mm clip holding that in place no probs at all

its not a std vauxhall manifold on the car
it is the Dbilas Z20 Turbo manifold

I just wonder why if this was worth doing Vauxhall didn't do it that way in the first place? Surely they would have done. I understand the theory of reducing heat from the crossover etc. But wether its worth the hassle? Anyone seen any success from doing this?

vaux have both boxes i wanna know why they chose the current over the diesel box must have been a reason as it would cost them less to fit the diesel one as no crossover pipe etc
