is there a way to reprogram the mirrors to be automatically controlled by the remote? Fold in when lock and out when open, you probably get the point

i thought theyd have to be pushed by hand to fold in...

Simple answer - Unfortunately No.

Folding mirrors are a build option. They are heated and electrically adjustable and electrically foldable. Basic Standard mirrors have to be manually folded and are not heated.

Heh well yes my are electric Funny thing is that a guy at work have his folded by keeping his lock key on the remote pressed for 3 sek. but he have to fold them out with the button on the inside.

It IS possible, but it requires a lot of work to the electrical circuit. I've seen someone made it himself.

So only if you have the knowledge it's possible.

What car does your friend have ?, does not mean the VXR has the same option

Ok my 2014 Astra VXR has electric folding mirrors but the key fob can not fold the mirrors. My wife's insignia 2015 has electric folding mirrors and if you press the lock button on the key fob for 3 seconds the mirrors fold. Maybe the 2015 Astra VXR's are the same?

No, Astra's J's don't have key folding feature.

A german engineer from a astra-j forum has developed a module, for folding the mirrors by pushing the key twice.
