  • Axle Stand Placement

Hello folks, Im about to wash the car and want to take of the wheels to clean and wax them, but not too sure where to put the axle stands once the wheel is off. I have a jacking point but cant see another to put the axle stand once the wheel is off.

Dont want to make an expensive mistake

    thanks

i did think this but didnt want to break anything lol.

I just dont trust taking my wheel off and then getting it under, knowing my luck the jack will give up just as the wheel comes off lol

yep. good thinkin. I was asked my a neighbour to jack up their car using their own jack.......So. loosened the nuts ever so slightly. Then jacked the car up using the standard jack as i was told to use and used the jack point.....jacked it up just so that there was enough space to change the wheel. Was just about to slide the axle stand under then BANGGGG. the jack snapped. lucky the wheel was still on. But. I was still partly under the car but was dead lucky. Definitely use axle stands bud. I had a blow out on thursday in the van and refused to change the wheel without a axle stand

They were recently painted, maybe they put them back on slightly wet and its stuck

I had to call out the aa for the same thing. They used like a big rubber hammer few hard wacks and they came off.
