  • WHere to get HID's

hey guys i got standard lights on my car (not projectors/afl)
now i no there H1 bulbs but i am unsure as to where to get any from as they need to be H1r as ive been told and also do they have to be a certain type or do they have to have can bus lead for errors etc? help is appreciated

Do a search on here mate.

They're H7 So if your going for HIDs you need H7R.

A legal alternative to HIDs is the straight swap MTec Cosmos Blue headlights. Quite a few members have them and again, search is your friend lol

visit ebay and search HIDS-Direct, they sell H7 and H7R which a Canbus compatible and 2 yr warranty for approx £60 delivered.

Had them in my corsa for nearly a year with no problems.

What's the difference between the h7 and the h7r kit because I have seen that some people have fitted h7 hid kits and some have fitted h7r kits ?

H7 is for Cars with projector headlights,

H7R is for car without the projector headlights

H7 are projected headlights and should only be used with AFL's
H7R are reflected and are used for standard headlights

I have ordered my HIDs today from hids-direct and the lady said I may require different bulb holders, has everyone else needed bulb holders or was the lady on the end of the phone just covering herself?
                      Thanks alex

                          Hiya Mate.

No you wont need any additional holders, dont think the woman knows whats shes talking about.

All you need is a H7 kit for projector Units (AFL) and H7R for Non Projector units. Also make sure you dont get any higher then 6000k in temperture as they will be too blue.

Bought my kit from HIDS-DIRECT and they are a good kit.
