  • Attention Burg/Clubsport owners - yearly gearbox oil change

    Hey guys

Just want to confirm with people that a yearly gearbox oil change is now included in the service schedule if you have a Burg or CS (and will cost you extra). I had this confirmed by Vauxhall HQ. The worrying thing is the few dealers I spoke to did not have a clue about this. I took my car in for service/MOT this morning and had to wait a long time while my dealer confirmed it with head office. They confirmed all Nurburgring's require a yearly gearbox oil change (and therefore I presume CS too).

I know many people are on this now and do it but there must be so many Burgs & Clubsport's where this is not the case. The dealers should know to do this now but it looks to me like it has not been made clear by Vauxhall, which is pretty poor. And then they wonder why they all fail.....

      Correct.

Transmission oil should be changed every year or 20,000 miles.

Interestingly, no other vehicles with Drexler components specify transmission oil annually, purely the Nurburgring although whether than encompasses Clubsport also, I'm not sure.

Yes, it has, I had it all clarified and saw the service schedule at my dealership. But most dealers don't have a clue, so you need to tell them it is now in there and needs doing, and unfortunately it will cost you more at each service. But a small price to pay to look after that gearbox/LSD.

                  No LSD.

Does the Clubsport have the revised m32 box with the extra oil feeds?

This is exactly what I mean. Absolutly stupid that it has not been made clear to all dealerships that this needs doing. What's the point in Vx officially stating the gearbox oil needs changing on them if it won't get done on most and put the gearbox at major risk of failure? Very poor, especially for cars not under warranty any more! I will fire a message to the guy I spoke to to advise more needs to be done here.

As for Clubsports....I just presumed they had the same gearbox but maybe I am wrong there, I know ALL Burg's need this doing though.

As for the oil itself....it's the BOT303 oil, part numbers:

We've been saying this should be implimented for years.

Even if the schedual wasn't changed I would still have the fluid changed.

It's a plate diff in a tight box that's known to produce plenty of heat. It's the nature of the beast.

Burg service last week, complained about gear box - first to second gear crunch I also said I thought their was a directive from Vauxhall HQ to change oil annually! Guest what not gearbox oil change will now be going back to complain
