  • Keyed car

Went out this morning to find my car keyed along the rear quarter on the drivers side. Quite a deep scratch as well I can run my finger over it so I'm gutted. I would put my money on it that its been school kids round this way. Raging isn't even the word, scumbags!!
Would a machine polish remove it or we talking respray???

A machine correction would def remove most of that by the looks of it, or at least the visable white line (where its broke the clear coat, hence its showing white/silver) If its through the clearcoat, paint and onto the primer/bare metal (very deep) then a bodyshop would be needed. You can usually tell with your finger nail, if you can just make out the scratch with your nail its most likely just the clearcoat, if you can feel a deep groove then its bodyshop time. Its ahrd to tell with pictures, but very easy to tell in person. Hope this helps.

        Gutted for you though

A machine polisher would definitely make it less noticeable, would need respraying to remove it though.

+1, if you can feel it with your finger nail then a respray is required

Thanks James, by what you've said I think it's just broke through the clearcoat as I can just feel the scratch.
Gonna get Absolute Valeting from Glasgow to come down and have a go at it whenever they can get me booked in. But aye, devastated

I'm afraid this may be the case... anyone know a rough estimate for a respray?
