Seems like there is so much power, it's at times hard to pull away nice and slow.

I've driven many vehicles, but haven't had one like this that is such a handful in those first 2 years.
Surely this is a joke right?

The corsa VXR is like any other car when pulling away. Corsa 1.2, Fiesta ........ even when I drove a Jag XJ220 it was easy to pull away in 1st and change upto 2nd. Infact with the VXR being torque limited in 1st and 2nd its a bit of a slouch IMO compared to other hot hatches in the same category.

If it's like the meriva, same z16let, then it's really not like most other cars. I've had lots of car, including a corsa 1.2, and that corsa is so much nicer to drive when pulling away.

The vxr seems laggy and lumpy for power. I posted the same comment a few days ago, it's underpowered to overpowered randomly with revs and accelerator. Pushing it hard it's fine on keeping the power up, it's just that step between idle and power that goes a bit wrong.

So, that's normal for a stock vauxhall map? Nice

Im in a standard corsa and can see where your coming from, but only on cold starts. Other than that its very smooth for me.

I'm wondering if vauxhall do have different maps as updates. They had the same with some diesels recently, and the updates (remap) made them a lot smoother to drive.
