Hi mate have a look here for mine

    http://www.vxronline.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=34672

To be honest mine has 3 wires , one is an earth , the other is an ignition feed which i connected into the brown wire on the rear of the cigarette lighter and the other should be connected to the feed from a light source , what this wire does is dim the light inside the boost gauge when the lights are put on in darkness . So to sum it all the light wire does not need to be connected to have the boost gauge lit .

    Hope this helps you out
