  • Cricket in my fan system

    Hi guys,

I've got this weird creaking noise, like a cricket noise when my fan blows..

    ANyone got this problem..

It stops when i put it on 3-speed...

sometimes mine is doing that also, if is the fan speed to low or really fast - is quiet, but once it is in middle the noise is strange...

I had that last year for about 2 - 3 months. Exactly as you described, but it went away on its own and thankfully hasn't come back ....yet!

I don't wanna go to GM, cause everytime i go there, something breaks...

If it's not my back bumper, then it's a scratched rims!

Ok, i'm going to let it "creek" for 2 months, and if it doesn't die, i'm going to spray it with Doom!

it's a well known problem with the grinding carbons in the fan motor, it's not the bearing of it.
It helps when you run the fan in the fastest speed for half an hour.

I used to get this noise but now it has stopped! It used to bug the hell out if me but I used to just turn the music up a bit louder! Lol then over the last couple of months haven't noticed it! Lol even when everything is quiet!

So what is it? if it's not bearings?

I don't know if "carbons" is the correct English word for the contacts of the motor, but it seems to come from them! If you run the fan for a half an hour then the will polished again and get quieter.

                            I had this noise also.

VX replaced heater motor after it failed completely not long after.

After it was replaced noise came back again so I got it replaced again.

You dont wanna be left in the cold with no heaters .....
