    Ouch that really does not sound healthy, sounds like an old masey Ferguson tractor on a cold winters morning

    Going to hazard a guess at it's most likely a snapped conrod or the big end bearing has let go

    Drain the oil through some filter paper you most likely find its full of metal shavings

    The really odd thing is usually when the above happens they hardly ever still run afterwards but rarely sometimes they still do start up

    If it's coming from the top it will be the camshafts that your thinking of, the crankshaft is at the bottom

    In all honesty I would be inclined to take the garages advice it sounds like you bought a duff engine

    What is the actual advice your looking for?

    Rattling sound

    Hey guys am new here I have just replaced my engine ..with in 24hour I started to get a nasty rattling sound coming from sound like top of engine .. The Garage I taken my car to and the engine I brought says it's the crankshafts .. The person I brought the engine had it rebuilt 3 months ago any help guys
