  • Insignia VXR - I bid you farewell

Deal done - pick up my 11-reg UG Focus RS a week tomorrow.

4 months after getting rid of my Frozen-white RS for the Insignia VXR, I am going back to the RS fold.

    Green army! lol.

Ah well at least you gave it a go, I know you had a bit of a dilemma choosing between it and the RS. Both excellent cars.

            they are very different cars,

and if I didnt need 4 doors I would have gone for the RS myself after driving one, I watched with quiet interest at your unfolding dilema with changing from the RS to the insignia,

maybe we should have had a little sweepstake on how long before all the misery of your last change forced you back to the RS?

good luck with the new car, sounds like its where you should be

if you dont mind saying or PM me, could you give an idea of what you got in PX please, valuing Insignia VXRs isn't easy so its good to get an idea from real deals?

I know a bit old now but I had an RS Escort from new and owned for 12 years. Was such a fun car to own and quite quick in those days. But as life goes on and 3 kids later hence the larger 4 door job, still lots of fun though and maybe a lot quicker (when it's not at the garage).

Thanks for the comments guys. When I was going through my problems back in January regarding the Insignia "deal" it was nice to get so many messages of support. Here we are now, 4 months later, and people on here still remember what I went through and are supportive/understand why I am going back to an RS.

I am glad to have been a member on here for the past few years - for such a large online club - there is a real core of regular posters who are often very helpful, and very friendly.

Not that I'm going anywhere mind - I will still be active on here. lol.

2 more sleeps to go. I have even taken the day off work tomorrow cause I can't keep my mind on my job thinking about getting back into a Focus RS. lol.

Hope someone on here gets the Insignia - apart from the ipod connection going on/off, there are no faults on the car.

Hi Dan not that good on Part ex a 2010 with approx 15-20k is worth around the 18-19k If your lucky....... As I've said in a previous thread my local dealers the manager told me it's the tax and running costs that scare people away.

All people want now are diesel Insignia's with nav.

But TBH the VXR looks fantastic on the road I'm really pleased with mine.

Yep the £400+ road tax is the absolute killer with the Insignia VXR.

Well - the Insignia is gone. Loving being back in an RS.

Feel a bit sad that within a short space of time, both our VXR's have gone (Veccy+Insignia).......
