vauxhall insignia vxr rear differential fitting is there a how two and any one know how hard they are to do

  • #2
My advice is take to local garage l was charged £400 quid to get service on diff. don't bother going to Vauxhall as they claim it's not serviceable item that's why no how to. however had haldex service light come up every so often l contact vauxhall and told me going to cost few grand for new diff. l wouldn't mess with it as a pump unit can break off diff etc. then get you into whole lot off problems oil very expensive. l had to wait 5 day's for oil to come from Germany but worth every penny some garages do diff service but not main dealers go to private garages like Volvo specialist sorry for long message hope this helps any issues pm me 👍

Guessing it shouldn't be to hard, easier than a clutch. Filter a nightmare to get to, the oil is easy enough. Vauxhall dealer or vw or online haldex specialist. I try a motor in it first, the take it out. The motors easy to get to. About £165 for a new one. The Haldex is a gen 4 I think, fitted to loads of stuff.

Easy enough job, done it a twice now, just make sure you get 350ml oil back into the unit.
