  • OEM vs Ravenol Haldex Fluid

Found that Ravenol had release an aftermarket Haldex fluid a few years ago.

    https://www.ravenol.de/en/product-ra...l-awd-h-fluid/

Now how the Haldex fluid havent really changed since 2005 ish as far as I know, so it's a rather old formulation.

The Ravenol is much more recent, and they've got some oil tests to back their claims:
    https://www.ravenol.de/en/oilltest/o...e-awd-h-fluid/

    Including:
    • 27.5 % higher performance in "FBT" test on stress protection
    • 470% higher performance in DIN 51350-6 test of shear stability (woah...)
    • ZERO foaming

Looks like Haldex fluid is mineral oil based. Not synthetic (synthetic base oil dont foam or shear like that generally), which makes the price haldex asking for for their oil some what crazy.

May give it a go. Thinking of replacing the pump. Anybody know what diff oil goes in the final drive. Also is it definitly a gen 5 haldex on my 2014 Insignia. Sorry for the hijack.

Insignia never got gen 5 haldex's as it turned out.....

Take the Haldex pump out and check the part number, it's gen 4.
