  • first drive in the vxr

well the mother in law has got herself a lovely red vxr insignia.

first of all the vxr is very nice in the red, quite impressed with the looks.so for the drive,im not quite sure what to make of it to be honest,i know its not set up to be as agressive as the astra but it just dosnt feel as quick.now to be fair its new an probaly needs running in.still a fast car an does feel very smooth.

interior aint so bad, apart from the 400 button stereo its all good, the seats are of a good quality an i cant see them sagging

overall alot of car if you can pick one up for 25k but not for me personally but still a good car

i wouldnt say it bad, infact its more good than bad.

ive just seen a couple of threads on it an i think cause its 320 bhp people are expecting a huge thrust in power on the launch.its a big heavy car but is still fast an handles very smoothly.

i would say its a huge improvment on the vectra by a country mile an for 25k is a steal

Couple of nice vid's on the VXR Insignia...
        http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyYYKK_3KyU
        and
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stc9YpQIa24 (well, in case of this second vid, they should have shot the presenter...turn the sound off and the subtitles on, and it isn't half bad)
and last but not least VBH on 5th gear...
        http://fwd.five.tv/fifth-gear/videos...-vxr-ken-block

        Does not seem too bad...
all in all, what can you expect from a big salooncar weighing in at almost 2 ton! It will suffer in the braking area's (need to brake sooner) and in the corners ...so yes it will feel a bit more sluggisch...compared to a 1.4 ton car with similar bhp. (such as EVO or STI)
all in all, it does not look to bad!

i think its handling & power will take some getting used too tbh as it quietly quick & so smooth to drive, which makes it feel slow in some ways till you take a look at the speedo lol.
ive ordered one now & took quite a while pondering over other makes & im certain ive made the right decision & wont be disapointed cant wait
