That means that the Astra VXR has a higher bhp/ton than the Insignia VXR!

This is whats putting me off getting one. It wont feel faster than my Astra except for off the line.

I'll see if I can record the start up noise. Now its gotten colder it really is rather noisy )
Also the instant mpg on starting on the fast idle sits at 2.9gallons per hour....

I noticed that the insignia does sound a little more throaty as standard

mine took a milltek exhaust to liberate some extra sound out of it !

That's the thing though, VXR owners expect a bit more than from the Flagship than just better in the Corners and off the line, the insignia should be better in all areas than it's little brothers as it is with the other VXR's, I've driven the Insignia and as lovely a drive as it is, per formance wise there is only a small difference in straight line speed between it and the Vectra 280.

I want to buy the Insignia possibly next year, what I would like to know is are you planning to upgrade the power on the insignia the same way you did the Vectra as this would certainly sway me over as I feel that the output of the insignia at the moment is lacking, especailly when you factor in the Cars weight and then transmission loss from the 4wd system.

My honest thoughts are that the Insignia should have came out with 340ish bhp that way the difference between smaller VXR's would be more noticeable.
