Does anyone know if the headlights from a Pontiac G8 would be a straight replacement for the R8's, and also if there is any difference in the 2008 and 2009 G8 models ??

    Fraid not.

As Pontiacs are LHD, the beam direction and pattern will be all wrong.

Holden parts are generally cheaper than HSV. I think the VE headlights are about AU$300 each

That was my one concern, but as the Pontiacs use the same projector headlights, I would assume the direction is adjustable?

I am not doing a straight stock replacement so Holden/HSV do not retail what am looking at. Found companies in both Aus and the US that sell them, with the US being around £200 cheaper hence looking over there first.

Yeah those are the ones ..... i am still undecided about them to be honest. You can get them from Aus with the right beam pattern, but they are almost double the price than they retail in the US, but as they are for LHD cars, the beam pattern is wrong and not adjustable. Maybe a lot of work for something I won't like as it involves dropping the front bumper etc etc.

The ones sold in Aus which I assume (in the process of checking) are projectros for a RHD car are on the below link, more pics on there

                      http://www.drllites.com/

Price wise they are £130 more expensive than the US version, and they will charge £140 for postage. I guess its worth asking about a group buy if anyone is interested.

I still can't make my mind up on these ..... and the headlight units are a pain to replace ..... but could be worth the effort for the end result.

I would buy a set with you to keep posting costs down.

I will ask how much postage will be for two sets and get back to you .... probably be when they are back at work on Monday.

Only way they can keep postage costs down will be to use a pallet so your looking at AUD250 postage which is the price they gave me.
