Alot of people don't appreciate just how quick the carlton was/is.

To be fair, it's got at least a 200kg weight advantage and was designed for the for fast road/track where as the stock vxr8 just has too soft suspension and damping.

Although in a crash I know what I'd rather be in!

Only real weakness of the carlton is the gearboxx iirc

True, but the LC's i've see that have been in hefty smash ups the interior compartment hasn't been badly affected at all. But then who buys a car on the basis of how it crashes

Absolute rubbish, gearbox is essentially bomb proof. Now if your talking about the pivot pin arrangement on the clutch then thats a different story

I don't know much about the gearbox apart from the one our dealer had which needed a new box at @5000 miles

My dentist owns it now, along with a VXR8 and a 111R - I want to be a dentist in my next life

the VXR8 was taken sideways all over the place whereas the Carlton was raced properly. Is this down to the suspension or different drivers? You will see the G meter going higher in the Carlton showing it is being driven harder in the corners. I recon that was a flawed test. Should have had me do it and then both cars would have had mistakes in every corner lol
