Try taking the O2 sensor off (or a new one mate) and give it a clean, this sometimes reads as the mixture of fuel/air is wrong and could make the car run too lean.

How does it run when sitting at idle m8, if it's fine at idle and the problem only shows when accelerating then your spark plugs are probably worn, being a 56 plate it maybe that the plugs have never been changed from new.

I take it your car is standard, if so then it will most likely just be worn plugs needing replaced.

            alright.

it not standard, it been remapped by cotnany sport.. its producing 301 bhp. ive only just got it, but i brought it with this fault as it was dirt cheap.. sounds like it miss fires every so often but i could be wrong. all i no is it pulls back.

its fine on tick over and first thing in the morning.. only does it when its warm.

            no dash lights come on.

Can't see it being your amm mate, your dash would be lit up like a Xmas tree,
As said it could be plugs, but it could be also a coil, plugs are around 50 quid from vxl coil packs are a tad more expensive, iirc 150 each a tech2 will tell you what is wrong tho
