  • New Corsa quicker than Vectra

Found this today, from the worlds best website for all things factual.

So the new Corsa VXR will

    1) Hit 60 in 6.0 secs (quicker than the Vectra)

    2) Be available in a range of new funky colours including lime green, marigold orange and pearl white

Hah, I updated the entry on the Vectra VXR - the original was out of date. No idea where this Corsa info came from, although even if it does get to 60mph in 6 secs, I'd expect the Veccy to go sailing past at higher speeds...

And where is it feasible to legally do more than 70 mph on a road, fact is we are all gonna get whooped at the lights.

But they weigh about as much as a shoe box...I expected them to be quicker.

Errm, driving down to Switzerland thru Germany? No lights on the autobahn.

And if I had a choice of car to do a 250mile trip in: Corsa with manic little 4 pot, or Vectra with rumbly V6, no contest! Same reason I didn't go for an Astra.

If the Vectra engine could be squeezed into the Astra, add on Four Wheel Drive and another 20hp...

Well EDS have squeezed another 100hp out of it.... :P

Someone is bound to do it sooner or later.

Would like to see one in a 1.2 Nova Merit, wheel trims and all ;>

Let's see if I can manage the standard 280ps in an English Winter without putting it in the hedge. Even 280ps is way more powerful than anything I have driven before (apart from someone elses Cayman S, but was too worried about wrecking it, so drove like Grandma).
