  • Oil change question

I'm hoping to do an oil change at the weekend on my driveway as I'm going on a driving holiday next week and wanted to do a quick change which might aid fuel economy a bit

The last change was done in April, and just for this one-off occasion I was going to leave the filter in place and just do the oil.

Can someone give me an idea as to where the sump plug is located? I haven't looked myself yet but a hint would be good - and is it just a standard nut as my girlfriend's old renault clio had a funny nut head that only a specialist tool would remove.

Final question is what oil should I use, and how much allowance should I make for what old oil may be left in the filter?

    Thanks

The sump plug is located towards the back of the sump but on the bottom. It is usually a T50 torque bit that is required. and you will need about 4 ltr's of 5w30 fully synthetic oil.
