  • please help

    i keep getting a strong smell of petrol coming from my car,i had a mechanic have a quick look over it but he couldnt see anything. Its intermittent but theres no pattern as to when it happens other than it didnt really do it through the winter, more when the suns out any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated. thanks

    sorry should have searched first, just searched now and it looks like it could be the petrol cap.

      i found with mine if i let the cap click when i tighten it it will smell so i tighten it up just before it clicks and i dont get it

          I usually do ......... 10 clicks, lol. . Never smell a thing, .

            mine does this very often after filling up, just give the cap a couple of extra clicks and its sorted

                i got the same smell off petrol went got a nes petrol cap from vxl and its never come back i found that the old cap was loosing it self off for some strange reason

                  I had this.
                  Bought a new cap from Matt Bibby for about £15 and problem solved. Never had a smell again
