    Ni all,

Been on the site a while but not posted as yet. Currently own a Zaf GSI and thinking of changing for a VXR. Read a few posts on here about the VXR being a better machine and wondered if its THAT much better to warrent changing.

There is a demo commin to my local garage next week which I will be taking out so hopefully will have my own answers then..

Does anyone on here have any ideas about the best way to buy the VXR. IE new on the PCP or used and get a loan etc.

    Steve

Depends how old you want to go, milage etc and if bothered about extras above standard spec.

    Could pick up a 06 for around 10k to 10.5k, 07 for 12k to 12.5k, 57 for 13.5k, 08 for 15k to 15.5k

Look on something like moneysupermarket as would probably get a better APR from bank etc rather than a dealer. £6000 over 3 yr would be £189, 8.8% apr pay back £6815

Hi Steve, welcome to the site mate . Best bet is to go for a test drive & make your own mind up. One things for sure; is that you should get a cracking deal either way!! Personally I'd go for an ex-demo or something nearly new if I were you, as this will offset some of the massive depreciation that everybody seems to be suffering (especially if it's slightly exotic)

      Good luck with it

I would defo buy an ex demo / nearly new one, you will lose sooo much on a new one. Bank loans are pretty cheap at the moment ..

As said if you go for one try and pick an ex demo or VX owned one.

Picked mine up a week ago nearly 9k on the clock with some optional extra's thrown in for nearly 10k off list price.

I have had both cars an i still have my Gsi
I just fitted the VXR engine an gearbox
I did not get on with some of the VXR its not a bad car it just looked like my Friends 1.9cdti with a new front bumper
Have a Drive see what you think of the car brake setup is ok on them for more power
              the truth is out there
              part GSI part VXR

would of helped if it worked prob a "Friday build Car"
the old Gsi looks like no other Zafira with its Body kit
the VXR dose have a nice engine an gearbox I liked that so much I got one of them
the 322mm brake setup is also good
the seats had started to Sag 4k on the Clock
                  car went back to Mcr

Have a Drive of the vxr you might like it
I did not like the look of it thats all
                  also drive one with 18's

I had the vxr for 2k in 2 weeks i just did not get on with it on its 19's **** roads
the late Sri zaffy a had the Gsi's body kit yes

I liked it just not some of it
19's not for me but they did look nice
also the vxr was on a std engine map
also IDS+ turn it off an stick it in the bin
parked it in wapping some ****** had a go an nicking its wheels

if i had done the same mods as my car i might of liked it ??

hmmm.... yeah standard mapping is a bit all or nothing!! agree with you about the 19's too
IDS2 has it's uses, especially in the wet on B roads
                        Don't go to Wapping
                        Nice work on your engine

I am eyeing up a set of 18" vxr replicas on ebay, I like love the look of the 19`s and am not keen on the snowflakes, but after having 2 vxrs with 19`s I don`t want to go back to A) The dentist & B ) Buckled wheels !!

IMO the VXR stands out more from standard Zaffys than the GSi does ..
