  • Green Vauxhall racer

Did you ever think a car running a fuel made of sugarbeat and wheat would compete in the BTCC? Independent outfit Tech-Speed is returning to the BTCC with the championship’s first ever car power by bio-ethanol – a green fuel made from sugarbeat and wheat.
The team have acquired Yvan Mullers 2004 VX Racing Astra Coupe, which has been converted to run the new fuel. The car will make its debut at Croft and will be driven by former Britcar racer Fiona Leggate. Fiona will be the first top female racer since Paula Cook in 1999, and is sure to give the boys a run for their money.
Bio-ethanol is the fourth type of fuel that is available to BTCC competitors. The regulations already allow cars to run LPG, petrol and diesel fuels.
