Jeez, that's huge! I thought Subaru practically invented that series.

Got to agree with you there. Anyone with manufacturer support is going to be nervous accross the board, there will be another big announcement on Friday from a racing parts firm that will shock a few people too. Its not nice out there I have to say.

I found out Last week, that our Scirocco Racer has been binned
Damn shame but you cant do much about it if the money isnt there !!

I think WRC will pick up a bit tho in 2010 when S2000 +kit format is run.

Damn - goes to show that Motorsport is seen as a luxury and is the first thing to be sacrificed (Hope Vauxhall doesn't have to pull out of the BTCC)

Didn't VW Racing have some kind of exclusive on the Scirroco racers? Never really understood it really, how do you stop people?

S2000 for WRC has always been seen as a cop out by the big teams, they maybe changing their view I guess.

I odnt think 888 will have any issues, they have a contract till end 2009, but who knows these days, really is a very strange place out there, Autopsort will get a lot of business done I'd say....and a lot of people out of business.

I've been speaking to a few people with the idea that maybe this means motor racing will get back to more grass roots? Who knows, but we're doing this now:

                    www.cslcup.com

350bhp/1250kg RWD M3 race cars on the grid for £16k, that aint bad?

Yep Vw Racing or Racing line decided it was only allowing cars built by them.

Tell me ,would you enter the CSL cup if you could only enter a car built by Simpson Racing Or Geoff Steel.

Looks like they lost an Entry !!

16k? is that entry fees or car too?

But maybe I should look at Csl cup are the Regs finalised yet ?

As Far as WRC goes , it needs shaking up, only showing top ten in Tv and results service isnt massive coverage.

I do think F1 should allow customer teams tho, surely that would help to fund racing !!

Racing Line are a rule unto themselves really. The whole idea of CSL Cup is that we're encouraging teams and privateers alike, the tech committee is made up of 5 different teams - cant say its more open than that. Tech regs pretty finished, just awaiting the tyre deal (might be a slick) and we're sorted, we are doing equalisation tests in Jan to sort the weights to level up the CSL's and M3's and then its sorted, summary can be found on the site.

We are building 5 cars, the others all seem to be sorting a couple each and got interest from another 6 people who all seem pretty keen. Got a stand at AUtosport if you're interested?

As for costs, pick up an E46 M3 for £8k, mileagle is immaterial, they are bulet proof mechanically, last season mine cost me pads and disks thats it (and bodyowrk but thats another issue). Assume £2k cage, £2k suspension, £2k safety/seat, £2k power and you're on the grid in standard class. If we run slicks it'll be one set per race meeting, entry fees circa £450 with free tea/coffee all weekend.

I wish. I've got three people interested in racing the Astra but we may have to sell the Corsa, championship winning car and cant get a driver for it.
