  • Courtenay & Churchill What a weekend

Sarah and I would just like to thank all of you who came along to Snetterton over the weekend to support Adrian Churchill in the Dunlop Sport Max, it was great to see you all and I know Adrian really appreciated it.

Special thanks goes to Tim C who drove off to get some special tools from his work and then set about helping rebuilding the RH front suspension combined with a bit of panel work on the Astra following a heavy coming together. Thanks for the spares.. you know who you are.

For those who missed it, here’s a quick run down of the Adrian races.

Race 1 Adrian Qualified in poll, but lost the lead to the better traction of the Seat of the start line. He quickly regained the lead but 5 laps latter suffered a CV joint failure (a bit too much kerb action) whilst he was out he did pick up a point for fastest lap.

Race 2 Saw Adrian starting from the back of the grid due to the non finish from race 1. By Lap 5 he had worked his way up to 5th setting both a fastest lap and a new Sportmax Lap Record on his way!! Unfortunately he had an racing incident with James Corte which saw Adrian retire again with major RH suspension damage.

Race 3 Once again Starting from the back of the grid, he was on a charge working his way to 2nd the Safety car came out which closed the field up again. With the safety car gone Adrian in what was a fantastic piece of driving was able to out pace the Seat and come around to take the win whilst setting another fastest lap.:hurray::hurray:

I have to say another thanks to Richard and the guys at KW, whose support was amazing they stripped down the front strut so it could be welded and then rebuilt it following the shunt for ready for Race 3

It’s great to see what a small team like the Churchill’s can achieve, we will be with you next season for sure
