  • Question open to everyone.....

OK - I have an Arden Blue (supaguarded - if that makes a diff) Astra

I don't want to spend over £40 getting kitted out on cleaning my car....

I don't want to spend hours and hours cleaning my car each week as I just honestly don't have the time. My car is used everyday regardless of the weather and kept outdoors. Prefer not to use a hose either.

Can anyone please tell me an ideal "kit" of things I need, everything from the sponges/mits to what wash, polish and wax you would use. Ideally I would like something which took 3hrs or less.

Marc - think you specailise here.

Marc - blond moment (even tho not blond)

does each product tell you how to use them step by step????

      or can you give guidance?

You can come and do the first one so I can learn from the master....

I will just sit there with the puppy getting a tan while learning!

        Oh god the puppy...

Zetas going through a chihuahua moment now!!!

        Named? pm me...

        Yes all clear..

        Clay car first...SO IMPORTANT.

        Without being clayed DONT BOTHER!!!

        3 stages all in order

        1. Removes light scratches and swirls and prepares the paintwork ready for step 2

        2. The polishing part that will give the car a real wet look mel like a static ocean and

        3. This is the waxing part that gives the car its protection....and shine!!

        4. Megs last touch is basically a quick detailer like you see the guys at the motorshow spraying on the cars when people touch them...It cleans them and removes fingerprints etc and gives a nice glossy look...
It is also used at the drying stage when the car is almost dry you spray it on the car and wipe over with drying towel or microfibre and it dispels all the last of the water and leaves car without them horrible smears you see in sunlight......

Last touch is the same as whats in the clay kit which is megs quick detailer but this is the professional trade version so get a gallon for £18 instead of a small bottle in halfords for £12.
Have just got vxrdilly a gallon and i think he likes it....Arden aswell

I personally use zymol field glaze because it has carnauba in it or pinnacle crystal mist which i have also bought a gallon for £60.

Hope that helps mel (and baz).

Mark thanks for the above its been a big help just one question, when your removing the megs products ie steps 1-3 is it best to use a machine polisher or best just sticking to good old elbow greese?

                Many thanks, Dazzer

I wouldnt use a mc polisher just some good quality sonus der wunder polishing towels and buffing towels......

                    http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/Produ...roductID=10059

Another alternative to this for a good finish on the red would be
                    clay

                    http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/Produ...ProductID=9057

                    wash and dry

                    http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/Produ...roductID=10080

and then megs no.7 show car glaze

                    http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/Produ...ProductID=9047

to give a real deep wet look to the car before topping with a good quality wax for protection and ultimate finish!

                    p21,s

                    http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/Produ...ProductID=9100

When finished every now and then give the car a quick spray with quick detailer and buff the shine back up........

This quick detailer can be mixed 2:1 with evian or ro water to give 2 gallons for £17.......This is the same stuff as the quick detailer in the clay kit and can also be used as a clay lube.......smells of coconut...hmmmmmm
