  • Cleaning Kit!

    Hi,

Apart from the sponges lol. What else should this include.

I've never cleaned any of my cars before (Im not proud ).

Anyway, i'd like to have a go at it this week.

I'll be paying Halfords a visit.

What should I place on my shopping list?

    Thanks in advance.

Right mate my cars get washed every week without fail!

I use nothing but the Autoglym range. I bought the valeting kit from Argos for £39.99 and this sort of started me off and also includes quite alot
of products and to the day I still have the nag it came in and keep all my stuff in there.

I can highly recommend all of the products they sell as I have used 95% of them. These are one to look out for:
    *bodywork shampoo and conditioner
    *active insect remover
*intensive tar remover (also good for sticky stuff that needs removing too!)
*super resin polish (only use this 2-4 times a year though)
    *clean wheels
    *interior shampoo
Also they sell a hardend brush to agitate the brake dust after you have sprayed on the clean wheels before cleaning.

When I saw how good the results were I bought other stuff like:
    *engine and machine cleaner
*paint renovator (not really needed if your car is out in all weathers though)
*bumper care (only for black bumpers, which I have always used for things like fuse box covers in engine bays or air filter covers)
*fast glass (creme for cleaning outside glass)
    *glass cleaner (spray for mirrors)

    Hope this helps you out.

      PreWashing:

      Snowfoam
Some use Citrus degreaser on the lower part of car

      Washing stage:
      2 Bucket method (with gritgaurds)
Chemical Guys Maxi Studs for shampoo
      Zymbol Sponge

      Drying:
Quick Detailer to aid with the drying (Megs, or I've found Poorboys good, alltough it needs a good buffing)
Aquatouch FBZ OR Miracle Dryer (but not as good imo)

That'll do you for washing the car, oh and try claying.
