  • help with snow foam and gilmour foamaster

I've just got a gilmour foamaster 2 along with a free 1litre bottle of snow foam from http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk however I am not sure how much snow foam to put in the bottle. First off I just filled the bottle with snow foam and tried that. But after reading some comments on here I believe this is wrong I then had another look on the forum and people say to put in around 25mm of snow foam in the bottle and then fill the rest up with water. However I couldn't understand why I had to dilute it as the foamaster has 5 settings on the mixing dial. Anyway everytime I have tried it all the foam just runs down off the car, whereas all the other pics I have seen with cars with snow foam on they seem to be covered in white

can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong

Its because you have bought something that produces froth not foam!!

The gilmour does not suck in air and mix it via a venturis it works via hose therefore only gets approx 20% of the foam a proper foam lance gets..

I take it you are talking about the gilmour hose attached version ?

Personally i think they are a waste of money but some may disagree...

Oh god i can foam about 20 foot away the gilmour just pours froth out... Its a totally different beast... If you have a pressure washer there is no comparison , chalk and cheese , gilmour is the best available via hose..
